Our Commitment to Child Safety
Growing With Kid is designed with child safety as the foundation. We are not a kids app—we are a parent-operated system that puts parents in complete control.
Our Safety Principles:
- Parent-only accounts (no child logins)
- Curated, age-appropriate content only
- No external links or unsafe content
- No social features or child-to-child interaction
- No behavioral manipulation or addictive mechanics
- No open chat or unmonitored communication
- Transparent and parent-controlled experiences
Parent-Only Accounts
Only parents can create accounts. Children do not have their own login credentials or accounts.
How It Works
- Parents create an account using email authentication (magic link or Google OAuth)
- Parents create child profiles with minimal information (name, age range, language)
- Parents control all content access and settings
- Children access content only through parent-controlled sessions
- No child can independently access the platform
Why This Matters
By requiring parent accounts, we ensure that all platform access is monitored and controlled by adults. This prevents unauthorized access, inappropriate content exposure, and ensures parents are always aware of what their children are accessing.
Content Safety Measures
All content on Growing With Kid is carefully curated and reviewed for safety:
Curated Content Only
- All stories, activities, and digital products are reviewed by humans before publication
- Content is age-appropriate and aligned with our values
- No user-generated content that hasn't been reviewed
- Regular content audits and updates
No External Links
We do not include external links in our content. All content is self-contained within our platform, preventing children from accidentally accessing unsafe external websites.
No Advertising
We do not show ads to children or parents. Our platform is ad-free, eliminating the risk of inappropriate advertising or tracking.
Age-Appropriate Filtering
Content is filtered based on the age range you specify for your child's profile. Only age-appropriate content is shown to each child profile.
Bolo Buddy Safety Features
Bolo Buddy, our AI voice companion, is designed with strict safety guardrails:
No Open Chat
Bolo Buddy does not allow free-form conversation. Children cannot have open-ended chats or ask arbitrary questions. The interaction is limited to parent-selected stories and controlled interactions.
Parent-Controlled Sessions
- Parents select which stories to play
- Parents control session start and end
- No auto-play loops or continuous sessions
- Clear session boundaries
Pre-Approved Story Templates
All stories are generated from pre-approved templates. The AI does not create stories from scratch or respond to child requests for custom content.
No Child-Initiated Interactions
Children cannot initiate story changes, request new content, or interact with Bolo Buddy independently. All interactions are parent-initiated and parent-monitored.
Voice Recording Safety
- Voice recordings are encrypted and stored securely
- Recordings are never shared with third parties
- Parents can delete voice recordings at any time
- Recordings are not used to train AI models without explicit consent
No Social Features
Growing With Kid explicitly does not include social features that could expose children to risks:
- No Child-to-Child Interaction: Children cannot communicate with other children on the platform
- No Social Feeds: No social media-style feeds or sharing
- No User Profiles: Children do not have public profiles
- No Messaging: No chat or messaging features
- No Friend Systems: No friend requests or connections
This eliminates risks of cyberbullying, inappropriate contact, and exposure to unsafe content from other users.
No Behavioral Manipulation
We do not use manipulative design patterns or addictive mechanics:
- No Gamification: No points, badges, rewards, or achievement systems
- No Infinite Scrolling: Content is presented in clear, bounded sections
- No Auto-Play Loops: Content does not automatically continue without parent action
- No Engagement Hacks: No techniques designed to maximize screen time
- No Behavioral Profiling: We don't track or analyze child behavior patterns
- No Emotional Manipulation: Content is calm and intentional, not designed to trigger emotional responses
Our platform is designed for calm over clever—we prioritize intentional, parent-controlled experiences over engagement metrics.
Security Measures
We implement multiple layers of security to protect children:
Authentication Security
- Secure parent authentication via Supabase Auth
- Encrypted password storage
- Session management with secure tokens
- No shared or default credentials
Data Security
- Row Level Security (RLS) ensures parents can only access their own data
- Encrypted data storage (at rest and in transit)
- Secure API endpoints with authentication requirements
- Regular security audits and updates
Access Controls
All data access is restricted to authenticated parent accounts. Children cannot access account settings, payment information, or other sensitive data.
Age-Appropriate Content Guidelines
All content is designed and reviewed with age-appropriateness in mind:

- No violence, scary themes, or inappropriate content
- Positive values and educational themes
- Simple, clear language appropriate for age range
- Calm, non-stimulating visual design
- Respectful representation of diverse cultures and backgrounds
Age Filtering
Content is automatically filtered based on your child's age range. Stories and activities for older children are not shown to younger profiles.

Parent Controls and Monitoring
Parents have complete control over their child's experience:
- Content Selection: Parents choose which stories and activities children can access
- Session Control: Parents start and end Bolo Buddy sessions
- Listening History: Parents can view what stories their child has listened to
- Profile Management: Parents can create, edit, or delete child profiles
- Data Deletion: Parents can delete all child data at any time
- Account Settings: Parents control all account and privacy settings
All activity is visible to parents through the dashboard, ensuring transparency and control.
Reporting Mechanisms
If you encounter any safety concerns or inappropriate content, we have clear reporting mechanisms:

- Content Reporting: Report inappropriate content through our contact form
- Account Issues: Report account security concerns immediately
- Response Time: We respond to safety reports within 24 hours
We take all safety reports seriously and investigate promptly. If content is found to be inappropriate, it is removed immediately.
